The technique described earlier (pressing the Backspace key to delete the paragraph mark) still works in Word 2013, however. In Word 2013 there is no option to turn off "split apart page break and paragraph mark." It is always on and thus Microsoft removed the check box. Microsoft did a major overhaul, in this version, on the way it displays documents and removed many of what were previously considered compatibility options.
The problem with this method is when you add more content above the empty paragraphs, all content below also shifts down. What many people do however (and I’ve seen this a lot), is insert empty paragraphs to force content onto the next page. This means that any content you add to the preceding page does not affect the content on the new page.
